Who here knows about old watches?
#1
I picked up an older mens watch in a bag of jewelry, and in looking, it seems some of them are worth a bit of money. Not a whole lot, but a bit. It's a Longings Automatic Admiral 5 star. It also has a calendar. I think its a wind up, at least its running now. I can set the time, but not the calendar. The back reads "R. J. Piexto 30 years Faithful Service the Union Ice Company 1939-1969". No mention of it being gold filled or anything and it has a regular Spiedel band.
I just hate to dump it in the junk bag in case it might be worth a few dollars. Any assistance appreciated.

The watch make is Longines (probably a typo on your part) and definitely has value. Here in the UK it should fetch £200 minimum and possibly more although personalised engravings might pull the price down unless they were famous.

There are instructions online which might help you adjust the calendar.

Have fun

Depending on condition it's worth about $200-250 if you can find a buyer. Maybe a bit less because it's been personalized to a stranger.

Take some good photos of it. Post it up on eBay.
Sell it "as-is". It's not worth putting any money into it.

You might get $3-400 if it is in good shape.
