Professor Mark Smith (not the author of the article) is entitled to his opinion that Trump using his platform as President to bully a private company is "corruption of the highest order," and I agree with him. I think people are mixing up some of Trump's other troubling behavior with corruption. it's not a contest to describe the worst behavior (in terms of impact) but rather to assign legal/ethical definitions to what he is doing.

The Office of Government Ethics said via Twitter that it has been receiving an “extraordinary volume” of contacts over the issue, but that it’s job is not to investigate such actions.

Got that? In the Trump's administration, the job of the Office of Government Ethics is not to investigate ethics violations.

Slow motion trainwreck. Their website has now been crashed by so many people wanting to know if this situation is an ethics violation and what can be done about it. (this also happened just before the inauguration when it was looking like he wasn't going to divest from his businesses)
CREW has filed an ethics complaint against Conway because what she did actually does violate the law and the WH doesn't appear to be doing much about it.

I had another giggle when I read one Trump-ite's comment asking whether Michelle Obama would be prosecuted for promoting the designers and makers of the dresses she wore.

Uh...well, if it directly resulted in the enrichment of the First Lady or her children, yup. Otherwise, not so much.
