Before my last trip I upgraded my 2012, 13" MBP to a 2TB SSD and a new battery, I think I am good for another 3 years....

Agree! I've got a 1TB SSD in my 2012 15". I think I've got another 3 years left. By that time, I think I can get along with an iPad!

Apple’s dream converting you to iOS.

I think these current Macs are niche products.

I hope they decide to make mainstream ones someday.
