Heading to San Diego for a Week. Stuff to do with a teen?

If you’re in La Jolla, check out the cave store! It’s got an incredible staircase through the cliffs down to a waterfront cave. It feels like a smuggler‘s tunnel from the hardy boys.

Does he like guitars? The Taylor Guitar factory tour runs daily at 1:00. Takes about an hour.

Depending on how adventurous you both are, there are plenty of skydiving options in the SD area. Skydiving so close to the ocean is pretty damn cool.

We took our boys to the usual “tourist traps”: Old Town San Diego. San Diego Zoo/San Diego Wild Animal park. Sea World/ , Belmont Park. Wife and I went kayaking in mission bay. Just drove there on Saturday, picked up son in Oceanside and we went to the La Jolla tide pools.

San Diego Zoo? It's on my list after watching them on NatGeoWild.

We went to both the zoo, and the safari park. The safari park is MASSIVE!!!!!!!!!!

Tip, you can buy the tickets in advance on-line, and they are cheaper. We did it the night before from our hotel room, and showed the e-mail at the gate.
