So, sure. It’s probably still a little surprising to run into a female pilot. It’s also generally a pretty smart idea to listen to women when they introduce themselves.

I can cut the guy a little slack for not knowing what a 'first officer' is when someone is wearing wings, but seriously, I think the not paying attention to an introduction is a problem.

At least it doesn't appear he was doing a P45* insulting dismissal like calling Cook 'Tim Apple'.

All this is covered by him being a Republican.

Until proven otherwise, "stewardesses" is longest common word typed solely by the left hand on a QWERTY keyboard. That said, Mrs. Buzz started her career as a stewardess in 1977, and then finally retired over 43 years later as a flight attendant..... never bothered her to still be addressed as a stewardess in her later years of flying; as long as the person addressing her was close to her vintage, or was even more of an antique.

IOW, boomer stewardesses are OK, but Gen X'ers, and newer, are all flight attendants.

The gender bigotry shown by the MN lawmaker was palpable, but maybe he was pissed off MN lost Northwest Airlines in the merger w/ Delta, though MSP is still a Delta hub.....
though no more HQ there, since DAl is in ATL.

Got it.

To me, not listen carefully is the bigger of the two errors.
