Once again I have to ask, is there an option for a User to hide a thread from one's view?

Seems like only those who are familiar with this usage are understanding.... it's not "make _____" it's just "make." As in, do you have to make.

I've heard that or a variation on Brit TV shows, once or twice.

Still not a fan of that much 'sharing'.

I prefer the dialog:

Where's the Mens' or Ladies' as the case maybe, or even better:

Where's the...

Down the hall and to the right.

I’ve heard it/used it all my life.

Never considered it a Jewish/Ashkenazi Jewish thing. It was/is common where I grew up (Queens, NYC) and live (Long Island, NY), amongst the general population. I am an Askenazi Jewish…

I will say, however, that there is a large Yiddish influence in NYC english, which seems to have been spread via TV sitcoms (schlemiel, schlimazel, Hassenpfeffer incorporated from the theme song from Laverne and Shirley, set in Milwaukee!?!) to the rest of the USA.

I don’t remember if it was used or not when I lived in Los Angeles. Pretty sure it wasn’t when I lived in Israel…
