A friend sent me an e-mail with a direct link to an mp3 file (non commercial). I saved it (did "save as"). It's on my desktop, looking like a normal mp3. iTunes opens when I "click" on it. but, I can't get iTunes to play it. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Are you sure it's not a virus masquerading as an mp3?

No, it's the real thing.
The guy that sent the link tells me I need QuickTime Pro to actually save it as an mp3. He then sent the mp3, which works fine with iTunes. I don't understand it. But, I've got the clip I need.
Thanks!

Do a Get Info on the file (right/control-click and choose Get Info). Make sure the file size isn't Zero kb. If so, the file is just an icon with no data in it.
