Gateway gets a buyout offer from eMachines !
#1

The Gateway stock is soaring...up to 1.95 a share and growing! I suppose Gateway would be a good move for eMachines...don't you think?

I just worked on a coworker's emachine computer. When I opened one of the utilities, it identified the computer manufacturer as Gateway.

I don't work on as many PCs as I used to, but that seemed odd to me. Now it makes more sense.

So Gateway acquired eMachines a couple of years ago via a stock swap. Now eMachines' former owner wnats to acquire Gateway? Uh, sure...

eMachines buying out Gateway? That would be like Peugeot Citroën buying out Renault, new bag, same crap.

Surprised Gateway hasn't gotten an offer from Waste Management Industries yet.

The cases are too small for any significant amount of trash to be hauled in them.

We bought our son an eMachines about 3 years ago, AMD 2800 processor. The thing
has never missed a beat. We added a gig of RAM and a Nvidia 5500 8xAGP video
card and it plays WoW just fine and he's heavy into it. It has an off-the-shelf
motherboard in it, don't remember which one. eMachines pretty much stopped
putting propriety crap in their cases 3 or 4 years ago.

eMachines was outselling Gateway a while back that's why they bought them out. Can't beat'em, buy'em.
