I sent an email to a CL seller...
#1
Saw an iBook on Craigslist. This was my email to the seller:

Is the iBook sold?

Does the iSight come with everything - clear case, wires, box?
This is an in-person deal, correct? Not an overseas payment scam (Wolverhampton UK, etc)

Thanks!

I still have the laptop. As I said, the laptop is an US version and it comes with 32 months of applecare.
I have attached some pics with the laptop to this e-mail. I am now in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.
Since I can't meet you and make the exchange, I would like to use a service that will help us with that:

www.tnt.com/tnt.express.wolverhampton.depot/third_party_service.html

TNT is a worldwide delivery company (like Fedex, DHL or UPS). You can see from their procedure that you will be able to check the laptop before I receive the payment. If you are in a hurry, I will use 2 days delivery (on my expense).

Let me know what you think.

Best Regards,
Susan

They don't really read the emails they get, do they?

Well, did you mention Wolverhampton first and they just copied that from you or what?

HAHA! I replied to the same ad, but here in Indianapolis. Which one did you do?

My reply was simply, "Nah, send it C.O.D."

I sent Wolverhampton first. This "Susan Leaf" person (has gone under other names) always seems to use the same location, so since the deal looked like it might be a scam, I put that in to see if they wouldn't write back, but they did anyway.

hmm, I guess they have their story and are sticking to it.

In all likelihood there's a non-english speaking person reading and responding with canned text.

Yeah, I got that one too... the dead giveaway was the initial ad had a mac book pro box in the image the email had another, correct box but the iSight had vanished, was suspicious from the get go, when she emailed me back I was tempted (as I have friends in the vicinity) to go for the wind-up.
