Honda passport and Isuzu Rodeo?
I think the Ridgeline is the first pickup Honda's ever sold?
So the toyota actually IS a daihatsu? If that's true, it ain't good news for the xB. Daihatsu's suck, bad. Hopefully it's a toyota design, at least. Suzuki sells one right now and it's junk. kj.

Well, there are a lot of sites that are doing double-speak, IMO...apparently the plant is essentially a Daihatsu plant, and the xB was FIRST a Daihatsu model, then reBADGED (with a few changes) into the Scion. However, some folks are brushing this off as 'Mother Toyota's' affiliates are 'just as good' as Toyota-labeled assembly plants.
I have no leg to stand on when judging whether this is true or not with respect to the quality. But, I would bet most US shoppers would be surprised if not dismayed to learn this information. But, whatever. The world won't end on this information.

I have held the Scion badge in high opinion on the basis of it being designed and built by Toyota. Now if you switch that up with Daihatsu then my opinion drops. It might not be justified or informed, but it is my opinion nonetheless.

hmmm, weird, considering Toyota is one of the best made vehicles on the road, and Daihatsu is one of the worst

If an assembly line is assembling junk, junk comes out the door.
If they get better parts to assemble, theoretically, a better vehicle should roll out.
Look at Hyundai's history.

[quote Grateful11]Honda Pilot and Isuzu Trooper I believe were the same SUV for a while.
It was a Honda Passport. It was Honda's first foray into the SUV market and they didn't want to dive in head first.
