That was just one of the things I had in mind when I became the only female (so far) to answer that way. I was able to think of quite a few examples.

edit - Unless it's those sometimes #@$%# tiny screws that I can't pick up much less rotate so the thread is down with my paws. Small hands and slender fingers would be a godsend in those cases.

Statement was said with tongue firmly in cheek- I think that being computer savvy (or car savvy or sports savvy) is one of those things that "people" think of being decidedly masculine. The fact that there are so many women on the forum obviously refutes that viewpoint, but it exists nonetheless.

I was also thinking about times when I was outside on a ladder, painting the house while he was off doing the grocery shopping. Or the times I was out in the driveway detailing his car, while he was in the kitchen cooking. I still had to do all of the sewing, but not necessarily all of the laundry or cleaning, especially if I was out mowing the lawn.

LOL! I hear 'ya. I'm single, but when I was dating my ex-BF, there were times I was putting together Ikea furniture while he was making dinner or I was painting the place and he was doing laundry, etc.

When I moved into my condo, there was much work to be done and no money to pay anyone to do it so I became somewhat handy. Still haven't attempted to retile my bathroom, but it's on the list.

being a guy raised by a single mom, I am shocked by how incompetent a lot of my fellow males are around the house.

just because I CAN fix dinner, do laundry, etc, does not mean I cannot also install hard wood flooring, etc., to finish a basement.

the only drawback is that my two kids (son and daughter) have to explain our culture's gender-specific view to their still ignorant father...
