How do you turn off the Brain Damaged "Genius" in iTunes?
#1
The damn thing takes forever to "transmit data to Apple" every time I start iTunes and I have had enough of it. Can't find any way to turn this annoying feature off in the menus, so I'm asking for help!

Yes, actually, it is.

You really couldn't find it without asking here? You managed to find Macresource forums, that's good!

Well no, it's not. all of the other interface controls are changed in the iTunes "Preferences".

Guess I missed it since I don't buy stuff from the iTunes Store...

Personally I like the Genius. Yes, it takes a long freaking time the first time (On my G4 with our umptygazillion song library it took, oh, a whole DAY) but the recommendations have actually been to my taste in many cases. It's nice having that automatic iPod playlist generator in my hands.

The Genius pisses me off.

He just lays around all day on the couch watching my Apple TV.
