As a last resort, I've had some success using full-strength bleach on cotton for oil/grease stains. Wet the area with bleach, then rinse immediately, agitating vigorously under running water. Sometimes it gets a stain out before it affects the color and, well, sometimes not.

Dawn was the product used to degrease befowled fowl after the Exxon Valdez disaster.
