Election results by Tuesday bedtime: yes or no?
#1
Do you think we'll go to bed Tuesday night knowing who won the election? Or will east coast issues and other challenges delay the final results?

No.
Possible.
Way.

It's gonna be tied up in Court until December.

My guess is that we'll know at 8 PM PST. One or two states might be undecided for a few days, like in '08, but not enough to make a difference. I think this because I expect the President to receive over 300 EV's.
Of course cbelt could be right too...who knows, we'll see.

If you're throwing the election party plan for late night guests.

I'm wondering how late to keep the kids up on a school night so we can watch the returns with friends at their house.

I really hope so, 2000 was brutal that night, and one of the low points in this country's history.

It's historic - I say let them stay up. If they're young enough to worry about bedtime they probably don't have a high stakes school day on Wednesday.

I really hope that Obama wins by a significant enough electoral margin for there to be no doubt and no contest. I'm counting on those Ohioans, Iowans, Nevadans, and Colorado folks (Colorodians?) to make the difference.

I agree with PeterB.

Although if Romney loses, the Rethugs will set off fireworks, of a sort, all over the country, trying to riot up the joint.

Eventually it will calm down but the anti-Obama rhetoric won't. They'll start beating the drums immediately for the 2014 Congressional campaign.

They have a system of herding the cattle they know works, they won't let it rest.
