I have documentation that my great-great-great-great grandfather applied for indian citizenship. He documented three generations of indians beginning with him going back to his father and grandfather. Here is my question. My dna test shows that I am 99.5% european. Is it even possible that the remaining .5% is indian? I'm inclined to think something is hinkey but I'm curious and I can't do the math. :-)

You have 32 great great great great grand fathers.
The father of one of those men is one of 64 men to you, the grandfather is one of 128 men.
1/32 = 3%
1/64 = 1.5%
1/128 = 0.8%

It isn't the monogamy that matters, that math assumes he was 100% Indian.

I assume you are talking about Native American Indian, right?
