It is a filling held between bread, so yes it is a variety of sandwich. Now whether "sammich" includes a hot dog (wiener or frankfurter) is another matter.

It's difficult for me to think of hot dogs or hamburgers as sandwiches. And as noted above, they are definitely not SAMMICHES.

A "sammich" requires a protein which is sliced.

Pizza Pie-oh And then there's that Wiener Wagon… ![]() Nope, sammiches are something else. But one more thought… one could slice the hotdog in half (lengthwise) leaving a little bit of casing to hold the two halves together. Two such constructions would fit on a piece of bread… Hot dog sammich. |
