I do have a new battery from OWC on order. Only if Larry's elves would move their butts and put in the mail, order has been pending for 2 days.
Anyway, Mother in law let the battery drain and then she was not able to restart it. Second time this happened. First time I assumed it was dead so I took the SSD out. Purchased an OWC to put the SSD in. Already $8o invested in this machine.
After I figured it it would start, I put the SSD back in and she used the machine for about a week, until it happened again. This time I did the exact same thing: charged the battery, tried to reset everything, SMC, zap PRAM, keep power button pressed for a long time. Nothing worked. The machine appeared dead, like DEAD. Like there was no battery in it.
So I opened it, unplugged the battery, put the battery connector back, and then it started. Battery was already full.
I have a battery from OWC on order as mentioned at the beginning of the post. meanwhile, I use the machine, and it works fine. I will try to avoid draining the battery. System info says the battery is OK
