We were up in Ashland then Bend for the long weekend and drove back from Bend yesterday via Ashland to home here in Marin down I5. We got first hand experience with so many fires it was crazy and now back at home it is just orange as others above have shown.

We had a very scary experience in the Ashland/Phoenix/Talent/Medford fire AKA Glendower Fire or Almeda Fire yesterday. Essentially we were routed directly into the heart of it and got out only about 45 minutes before the entire area that we were was engulfed in flames. I'm going to start a new thread about it in the next day or two. It was quite frightening and my wife and I are fortunate.

Around here it was almost as bad.

At near 1500hrs it's as dark as 0600, just a bit less orange.

As in many other areas, little smoke smell.

Same here. Was joking with neighbor that I might need a flashlight…

Looks like most of the Oregon/California west coast is having a smoke-fest.

Yeah, it's a sick orange color out there with fog (or smog) and the ash that's falling is sticky.
