I've said it many times here before - I do it the way God intended - on election day at the polling place.

I'm waiting for a morning when it is about 74 degrees, with a one or two mile an hour wind, and clear, sunny skies over the blue pacific, just down the cliff from the polling place. In other words, pretty much any day around here, so I will vote on November 6.

I haven't stood in line in a bank, ticket booth or polling place for almost 16-years, this year was no different, I voted by mail. Now if only I could find a way out of those

I like the ritual of going to the polls, which in my neighborhood are at the Greek Orthodox church, and chatting with my neighbors and the judges while I wait to cast my ballot. The Republicans are probably right to try to restrict immigration and cry "voter fraud," at least for their purposes. Immigrants vote. They would vote in the rain, vote in the snow, leap over the fissures in an earthquake to vote. And until the second or third generation or so, the overwhelming majority vote Democratic.

Voted today - stood in line w/ a bus full of retirement home residents.
I was surprised at how many local candidates here are unopposed. |
