What is new is conservative political strategists deciding to throw together everything their base hates about "woke culture " and rebrand it as CRT. It's the new Red Scare.

BINGO!

Over a dozen states have passed laws prohibiting teaching of CRT in public schools that didn't teach it anyway. Just another poke at the hornets nest of anger - gotta keep the base riled and upset to boost turnout.

This is a legitimate scholarly area that has now been dumped into the modern culture wars.

I'm surprised there isn't a push AGAINST teaching about the Tulsa Race Massacre alongside as well.

Not sure how the second is acceptable to teach about and the first isn't - except that logic is not the basis for this fight.

No worries. They will soon conclude that the Tulsa Race Massacre is somehow associated with Critical Race Theory and ban it as well.

Critical race theory has been around for decades — why’s it a powder keg now?
On today's show, we'll talk to a critical race theorist about what CRT is and isn't — and what the recent controversy has to do with voting restrictions.
The professor uses a great analogy to asbestos in a building, it works very well.
