About 20 years ago my wife came home and was upset because one of her co workers had lung cancer so she asked me to quit.
I thought about it for a coupla days and told her that I understood how hard it would be to find a good husband to replace me, and that I would quit.
I quit smoking, alcohol, and coffee. Stayed away from the friends that smoked and stayed away from anything that I associated with smoking and haven't looked back.
To keep me busy I took up Mac computers. Could hardly spell computer but my wife helped me learn and she doesn't complain when I spend money on computing junk. She knows the computer bug is way cheaper than the smoking.
Also, my doctor likes it better this way.
I do partake of alcohol and coffee presently. It no longer makes me crave a cigarette.
